We know the benefits of working with Google Workspace. And since the deployment of new features in Google Chat, communicating across teams is even easier.
New Google Chat takes collaboration and communication to the next level with these features:
- Team chat rooms with conversation threading
- Bots that serve as virtual assistants, connecting you with other apps
- Integration with other Google Workspace tools so you can get notifications on Drive activity, share files, and schedule a Meet video call right from new Chat
- Start 1:1 chats, group chats, and create Spaces to stay connected with a team
Learning a new tool can be as exciting as it is overwhelming, so Wursta has got your back. We’ve prepared a bundle of change management assets to help you introduce the new Google Chat to your organization.
Wursta sets you up for success with change management resources
The best place to start is in the Change Plan for new Chat. This sheet includes a Communications Plan with links to email templates you may copy/paste into messages to your end-users. In the second tab, you’ll find links to end-user training materials as well as helpful instructional materials for Administrators.
Transition to Google Chat before 2022
In early 2022, any customer still using classic Hangouts will automatically be migrated to “Chat Preferred” as Google replaces classic Hangouts with Chat. Be on the lookout for an announcement that will be sent to affected customers before the migration.
More information about the timeline to transition can be found here.
If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out or contact your Wursta account manager.
